We would all like to invest in banks with a strong P&L. The folks at Citi are clearly lucky to have a robust complement in Peace & Love.

Peace & Love sits on North Moore and Greenwich--a very desirable section of Tribeca. And with an address like 378.5 Greenwich, the cafe expectedly has sandwiches featured on its menuboard.

Seating at Peace & Love seems deliberately haphazard, with a mix of sofas, benches and even a swinging chair by the window. The soaring ceilings combined with the large windows make for an impressive setting.

If you are simply in the mood for tea or coffee, you can rest assured that there cannot be a better spot in the area to park your laptop and surf the free wi-fi. Peace & Love also has a great selection of salads and sandwiches. To top it off, the staff is friendly and accommodating. What more can one ask for? Well, if only we didn't have that steady stream of bankers from across the street during the weekdays ...

As far as TriBeCa coffee spots go, Peace & Love is my favorite place. The coffee is very good here. Strong, subtle, and extremely tasty. The espresso is good, too. A bit weak, but very easy on the palette.

The service here is relatively fast, but their ways of organization can be a bit sloppy sometimes. When they serve up a drink, they shout the beverage and you have to pick it up. So, if two people order the same thing, it can be a bit sloppy at the counter.

My favorite thing about P&L is the setting. The chairs are all so comy, with couches and sofas spread out around the shop. You can even get a nice comfy couch near a window and enjoy your brew.

This place is a great place to go on a lunch break, to take it easy and enjoy a solid coffee.

When you place your order at Peace & Love, you'll notice a little message etched in the dark brown wood just below your hands: "ENJOY LIFE." I'm sure the wood didn't come that way, so I'd like to personally thank the owner (or enthusiastic employee) for the thought. New York is a city fueled by competition, so any reminder to step back and smile on occasion is greatly appreciated.

Peace & Love looks like the kind of place your favorite sit-com characters crack wise in while sipping coffee. There's an odd rhythm to the seating --- big couch here, tiny table there --- but it all adds up to major-league coziness. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer fun views of Greenwich and North Moore. In case you overlook the message at the register, you're sure to spot two others carved in stone beneath your feet: "It's a Beautiful Life" (near the entrance) and "Treat Others as You Wish to Be Treated" (which snakes around a bend and leads to the restrooms). How can you not love it?

The menu offers a small variety of breakfast and brunch options, terrific salads and soups, killer sandwiches (including the "Canary," which is jumbo shrimp, mozzarella, avocado and aioli, and the "Maldives," which I wholeheartedly recommend (herb-goat cheese, tomato, avocado, baby field greens and aioli). Just choose your favorite bread and you're set. They also have burgers, homemade ice cream and smoothies. (Other plusses include free WiFi, prompt table service and IKEA silverware.)

Its great to still see non chain coffee houses still out there, kicking butt and for Peace & Love being located in Tribeca it makes it even a better place to visit after dinner.

I came here one late night for some coffee and to relax. The atmosphere is calming where you can chill on sofas, corner lounge chairs or small tables.

I got the Cherry Spice Late which wasn't that good but just the atmosphere made it worth a visit.

As it gets nicer outside they will being to put chairs and tables outside to chill.

Stopped in here for a quick drink and chat with a friend. Seating in various forms (including a free-swinging seat).

There are flies here in the middle of winter. I'm not sure exactly why they're not taking care of this issue, but don't sit close to the trash area or on that side, they are annoying. And there was an onion smell causing my conversation partner to actually tear up - we had to move. Tables here weren't cleaned much, either.. they're too busy serving up new customers walking in.

At least the mango black tea wasn't too sweet.

Maybe it's the Californian in me, but with a name like Peace and Love, I was dreading a hippie-styled dramatization of the 70's, but instead I was pleasantly surprised by the coziness of this little cafe. This conveniently located place serves up unique sandwiches and salads to its patrons who are perched on sofas, comfy armchairs, and any mishmash of furniture. There's a certain kind of charm about the friendly workers there too.

I'd suggest their teas anytime - in particular, their chai. Anyone who knows me knows that I love my chai teas. At this location, I have difficulty deciding between their spiced chai and their vanilla chai because they're both so amazing.

I should begin this review by saying that I've only been inside twice - both times to buy a bottle of water. But the service is fantastic - the chirpy, friendly staff reminds me of my favorite cafe in my college town. And the chairs - I love the chairs.

However, what prompts me to give Peace & Love 4 stars (and even review it) is that I pass by every day, twice a day, and every single time I read the name it makes me smile - without fail. The staff must know me as 'North Face Jacket Girl who Smiles Like an Idiot Way Too Early in the Morning'.

I am still somewhat hesitant to post this review - since it might not hold as much water as the others, but I get seriously warm and fuzzy vibes every time I walk past, and I have to express that to YelpLand. Enjoy!

As I sit on the plush bank seating while I write this Yelp review and listen to Stevie Wonder on my ipod, I do believe that I could be falling for Peace & Love. I passed by this place on a long walk home from work a couple weeks ago and knew at first sight that we'd get along grandly. So here I finally am, enjoying all that Peace & Love has to offer.

On the menu board, an enticing selection of sandwiches teases my empty stomach. I decide on the phi phi (grilled chicken, manchego, sauteed onions, bacon and a mild chipotle aioli) and a bottle of Teany tea. The sandwich will be brought to me when it's ready, so I choose a table right by one of the ceiling-to-floor windows. How did Peace & Love know that I loved having an abundance of natural light stream in as I write? And the nice assortment of cushy couches and chairs means I'll have a comfortable spot no matter where I sit.

The sandwich arrives - the bread is warm & toasty, the cheese is gooey and melted, the aioli is on the side so it's up to me how little or how much I want. The sandwich is delicious, if not completely filling. But they're obviously going for quality over quantity, and I could certainly order a large for $2 more next time. (And you *know* there will be a next time, and a next time after that, as well.)

Unlike other free wi-fi cafes I've been to, not every table is occupied by a laptop wielding artist/writer/hipster type. Aside from me, there is only one other such person. The Citigroup building is right across the street, so there is a fair share of corporate types getting their grub and coffee on. They are pretty innocuous and I'm able to zone them out easily once I pop the ipod in.

In the late afternoon, the place is more than half empty; in the early evening, I've got Peace & Love pretty much all to myself. But the staff doesn't seem to mind longtime dwellers and I don't think they even realize that I've been here for 4 hours. Apparently, there is no such thing as overstaying your welcome with Peace & Love.

And now, a brief mention of a couple faults. The outlet situation is a bit spotty. I noticed one in the column right smack in the middle of the room, but didn't see any near the bank seating. But the free wi-fi (get the username & pw from the cashier) more than makes up for this. The music here also leaves a bit to be desired - Top 40 pop rock to The Police to The Wallflowers to Roxette? But as I mentioned, my ipod remedies that quickly enough.

Taking everything into account, including the proximity to my home, I have to say that I can't wait to have more Peace & Love in my life.

My Favorite place for a Salad - Sandwich combo!

Amazon Salad - delish! This is PACKED with fresh chicken, chunks of avocado, pears and walnuts with a nice light vinaigrette. (also comes with goat cheese but I prefer without)

Ixtapa Sandwich on Multigrain - again, this is just delicious! The bread starts it off -- legit hearty, healthy bread with bits of grain and seeds...hard but not too hard outside with soft inside and it's almost a little sweet. I LOVE this bread. The chicken they use is fresh and moist and they add on the perfect amount of mozzarella, avocodo and tomato. Comes with a side dressing but better without it. Once it's all packed in they grill it lightly so the cheese melts ever so slightly....yum

First, GREAT name. If I were to name the sandwich soup joint of my dreams, 'twould be Peace & Love.

Second, great seating. An earthly but certainly tribeca decor with browns, cremes and light greens. Good open space.

Third. Service is wonderful (you have me sold when the cashier sings Tom Petty while giving me my change).

Fourth, my prosciutto, manchego cheese, tomato and aioli sauce sandwich was pretty good. *pretty*good...hence the lack of that coveted, rare fifth star. Nice and crunchy baguette(not the kind that leaves the roof of your mouth a medium grit sandpaper) but the cheese and aioli was a bit...too creamy? Overwhelmingly dairy, I'd say.

I look forward to coming back on another quiet, windy Sunday and reading a book while listening to Jack Johnson.
