Welcome to this week in Art in LA

All I can say is I've been waiting... to see Mike Kelley and Michael Smith's "A Voyage of Growth and Discovery" opening Wednesday at West of Rome (The Farley Building). When it was at Sculpture Center in NY, I dreamt I was there and now it's finally here..get excited!...

Thursday night, I'm curious to see Rachel Harrison at Regen Projects. I've always seen her work in New York  and it's always interesting to see how perspectives change in a new context and how her work will translate to Los Angeles.

Saturday, Joan Jonas "Reading Dante II 2007/09" at Rosamund Felson in Santa Monica looks promising. This piece was first seen at the International Pavilion of the 2009 Venice Biennale, and again seen at Performa '09 in New York. Again, it will be a new context and framework to view the piece.

So get out there, check it out and enjoy!
