Weekly Outlook
There are several dynamic exhibitions opening on the east side of Los Angeles this weekend. Eros And Civilization opens at Human Resources in Chinatown, featuring the work of five female artists who use photography to explore psychological and visual relationships. These passionate and strong women are Heather Cantrell, Dawn Kasper, Tricia Lawless Murray, Davida Nemeroff, and Amy Sampson. The exhibition is curated by Benjamin Lord, who is also a brilliant artist and writer. I suggest looking at his solo exhibition currently on view in the project space at Las Cienegas Projects, False Positives. Also on Friday, a group exhibition at Workspace is sure to be both playful and unsettling. The Land Before Time is a figurative excavation of childhood, with work by Erich Bollmann, Samantha Contis and Nick Lowe. See you there! Lee Foley Editor, Artcards Los Angeles Editor's Picks
