Weekly Outlook
See Line Gallery at the Pacific Design Center should have an interesting exhibit this Thursday. Centered around definitions of the color silver, it seems like a good excuse for a monochromatic group show with an impressive roster of very different artists, including Scott Benzel, Robert Billings, Laddie John Dill, Jimi Gleason, Joe Goode, Michelle Grabner, Jay Lizo, Karen Lofgren, Yogi Proctor, Laurie Reid, and Kathryn Van Dyke. While you're there, be sure to view new work by Bobbi Woods and Brian Butler at Annie Wharton Los Angeles. The exhibitions open with a public reception in conjunction with PDC’s "Design Loves Art" programming which runs from September 22 - November 4, 2011. On Friday, Robert Therrien will show drawings and sculpture in what Gagosian claims to be his first exhibition in over a decade. Blum and Poe will host an exhibition of new photography by Sharon Lockhart. This would be a propitious evening to go out, clink a few glasses and take notes from the masters. Look at the website for Pacific Standard Time to keep up with the stream of exhibitions, videos, and blog entries which all highlight the early days of the Los Angeles art scene. Have a great week!
