Weekly Outlook
This is a big week for art in Los Angeles. Make sure to attend the Art Los Angeles Contemporary fair to see highlighted works from major Los Angeles galleries, as well as representation from a few international institutions, such as Brand New Gallery, from Milan, Italy. Click here for a full list of lectures, performances and music events from January 19-22, 2012. LAXART and The Getty are teaming up to host a ten day Performance and Public Art Festival as part of Pacific Standard Time. Performances and site specific installations can be found throughout the city. Liz Glynn will curate Black Box, a performance space and undercover bar that will be open from 8pm-2am for the duration of festival, and will feature surprise performances from artists. For a dose of art for social change, LACE presents a series of events and performances organized by Suzanne Lacy, entitled Three Weeks in January: End Rape in Los Angeles. In this progressive homage to a work from 1977, Lacy will curate over thirty events. Take some time to read up and design an itinerary for yourself and friends this week, so you can effortlessly float from one experience to the next. Good luck! Editor's Picks
