Weekly Outlook
Huge week for art in NYC -- over 175 events converge at galleries across the city loosely organized by Dumbo First Thursdays, the first "New York Gallery Week" (Friday-Monday), "Gallery Night on 57th Street" (Saturday), Second Saturdays Staten Island, and The Affordable Art Fair. To begin your week, Tonight (Tuesday), I suggest being a part of "ALI Cultural Identity" Art Dialogue and Party which opens at Phillips de Pury & Co. This event will mark the launch of ALI's Cultural Centre and will examine how contemporary art has shaped perceptions towards nations. Last week, the final show at Deitch Projects opened -- see images, video, and a review by Helen Wu on Artcards Review. Editor's Picks
