Weekly Outlook
I must say, as a Californian native, this is the coldest "summer" of my memory. Luckily for us, there are many interesting art activities this second week of August to help distract us from the fact that our sweaters have migrated out of the closet and onto our backs. ---------- Creative Growth and Local 123 bring hot art to the fog-laden Bay Area on Thursday, while WE Artspace screens classic cartoons for those in need of cheering up. The Lab celebrates Friday (the 13th) with an exhibition titled "Black Lab." Thinking dark - Trevor Paglen talks at The Bayview Opera House as part of the SF MOMA's fascinating program "Infinite City: Right Wing of the Dove," which investigates this region's relationship to the national corporate military complex. Or, think deep with Johanna Drucker's talk, "Reversing Polarity: Aesthetics and Criticism since Adorno," at SFAI. The Headlands Art Center and ATA provide landscape amusement on Sunday. See you out there, appropriately attired. and..... Artcards Reveiw's -- Weekly Featured Artist(s): Paul Mpagi Sepuya, Timothy Hull and The Accidental Egyptian Editor's Picks
