Weekly Outlook
For those like to see art from the comfort of their own home or if you have been meaning to go to an art fair but would like to avoid the traveling, there is a novel new way to see what the galleries of the world have to offer: VIP Art Fair. For one week (Jan 22-30) you can browse their offerings for free, if you want to communicate with galleries, it is a bit more pricey. That said, digital pictures never quite do non-digital art justice in my opinion. So, for the non-screen mediated art experience, a good starting point would be the Recology show at the SF dump, where residency artists display their projects (Friday and Saturday). Another destination art venue/residency, Headlands Center for the Arts, opens a show on Sunday. Get a taste of what is coming out of local MFA programs at a new curated show opening on Saturday at Performance Art Institute. Finally, hop into the new show at SF Art Commission Gallery to see "Isn’t It Obvious? San Francisco Artists Consuming the Banal," this Thursday. Hope to see you at the shows! -------------- New on Artcards Review: - "Featured Artist: Robert Janitz" by Howard Hurst Editor's Picks
