Weekly Outlook
The best way to celebrate the solstice is to head to the Julia Morgan crematorium for the annual experimental music fest, GARDEN OF MEMORY, always worth the 15 bones to get in. It starts real soon, 5-9pm tonight, and gets packed towards the end. So, if you are not poised to go, never fear, there are plenty of other exciting events this week. Southern Exposure host a radical art teaching panel in the Mission on Wednesday. Right around the corner Matthew Stadler, founder of Portland's Publication Studio and writer, is in discussion with Larry Rinder at Kadist Art Foundation about his new book. Margaret Kilgallen is being featured in "Summer / Selections" at Ratio 3. Kilgallen is not as well known as her contemporaries like Barry McGee, Chris Johanson, and Alicia McCarthy, but her work is just a vital to the art movement known as the Mission School. On Thursday in the East side of the Bay in Berkeley don't miss a Panel Discussion: Andres Cisneros-Galindo, Lawrence Rinder, Matthew Higgs, Paul Moshammer, Tara Tucker talk about "Create" at Berkeley Art Museum.
