Weekly Outlook
Summer’s almost over, but the shows are still rolling in. Tonight, SPUR Urban Center will be screening Echtone in their downtown gallery, and tomorrow, Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts will be hosting Carlos Villa’s opening for his show, “Manongs, Some Doors, and a Bouquet of Crates.” Thursday is packed with events. The Asian Art Museum will have their “Balinese Shadow Puppet Night,” while Creativity Explored will be opening their group exhibition, “Structure.” Paul Mahder will also be opening his show, “Natural Conversations,” at his gallery, Paul Mahder Gallery, and the Kala Art Institute will have a talk with artists Elisheva Biernoff and Zachary Royer Scholz. As for the weekend, you can look forward to an artist’s talk with Don Ed Hardy at SF MOMA Artist Gallery, a duo exhibition by Joseph Smolinski and Colin Christy at the Swarm Gallery, and an artist’s talk/closing reception with Thomas Haag and Martin Webb at The Compound Gallery. Happy gallery gazing! Editor's Picks
