Weekly Outlook
It is hard for us to contain our excitement, we the editors of Art Cards are off to Miami for the week to opperate a booth at the New Art Dealers Association Fair (NADA). I could tell you more about what we're doing, but its enough that I've plugged our project. More pertinent to these parts, we'll be missing a ton of events and shows which we'll have to catch up on when we return. If we miss something good this week (or ever), please let us know. Things we wish we'd be here for: -Anthony Ryan, Bean Gilsdorf, Crystal Roethlisberger, Jesse Boardman Kauppila, Jesse Houlding, Maggie Haas in "In Formation" opening Wednesday at Kala in Berkeley -The massive open call group show "Point of No Return", Thursday at Southern Exposure, -And Elizabeth Bernstein, Kevin P. Clarke, Alex Clausen, Carey Lin, Camilla Newhagen in "The Home Show" opening Friday at MacArthur B Arthur in Oakland. Curiously Direct Picks Ratio 3//Miriam Böhm: Before in Front= A solo show of five bodies of work with similar concerns. Böhm's work play with the possibilities inherent in photography/reproduction for restructuring, folding, and multiple levels of depicted space. I liked some more than others, but as an introduction (for me) to her practice this was an excellently installed and considered collection of works. The show is attractive, quiet, and just conceptually rich enough to merit another visit. Editor's Picks
