Weekly Outlook
Openings, sure, and closings too, especially if you missed the show: the excellent exhibition curated by Luca Nino Antonucci Somewhere in the Fold at The Popular Workshop is coming to an end this week, and on Thursday there will be a reception. There are quite a few works that stand out in this show mining the connection between art practices and publishing, including the furnishings by Anzer Farms, prints (and a huge book) by Linus Bill, publications by split/fountain, and a collaborative print by Kate Bonner and Sara Hotchkiss. If you missed this show and especially if you have yet to make it out to this newish gallery, the closing (6-9pm) is a great chance to rectify that situation. On the other side of the equation, there are some openings I am looking forward to, including Remembering is Everything at Alter Space, and Claire Fontaine's Sell Your Debts at Queens Nails. NOTE Our new short weekly interview series, QUESTIONNAIRE, has begun. Catch a sneak preview listen to the first episode with Erin Jane Nelson (click to go to the show page). A text version will follow soon. Curiously Direct Picks I'm a bit behind on this, but in brief, I'd suggest definitely checking out the peculiar group show at Altman Siegel, and Lindsey White's solo show at Eli Ridgway.
