Weekly Outlook
Its the first week of June and already the art season has slowed, with people beginning to take vacations and quite a few lucky folks off to Venice or other such exotic locals. For a week with both a first thursday and friday there's not a ton going on this week. Saturday at Root Division Strange Bedfellows: Collaborative Practice in Queer Art looks to have some good work in it, and defintely don't miss ¡Oye, Mira!: Reflective Approaches in Contemporary Latin American Video Art at the Walter McBean Gallery at SFAI which closes on the 8th. Both shows are presentations of a particular type of art practice by a particular type of artist and though this identity/locality based curatorial strategy isn't itself exciting, the collection of artists in both shows is strong, with a few stand out works in the McBean show including those by Edgardo Aragón and Eamon Ore-Giron. We'll keep it simple this week, as I often request, if you have any suggestions for content for this site or want to help out, please get in touch at mrharbour[at]gmail.com. QUESTIONNAIRE Questionnaire is chugging along. Email me if you want to take part, and give a listen at http://9thfloorradio.com/questionnaire Editor's Picks
