Weekly Outlook
The Bay Area loves looking at itself in the mirror, loves talking about the good old days... A birthday is an opportunity to look back at where we've been, but its also a chance to celebrate who we are, now, and where we might be going. In celebration of its 39th birthday, a less than auspicious number in our base-ten focused eyes, Southern Exposure is throwing an exhibition and event which will try to do both. From SoEx's mission statement:"An active presence in the Bay Area since 1974, SoEx is continually evolving in response to the needs of artists and the community while engaging the public in artists' work." It is this potential for evolution which has kept it relevant for all of these many years. And its origins, small and scrappy, less clear vision than strong values, point the way for the spaces to come. For more info, check out THE LONG CONVERSATION. Editor's Picks
