Weekly Outlook
An idea: far too many shows are clustering around the same days of the month. We need a better long-range calendar for the Bay Area… If we build a Gmail calendar and make it public will you use it to add your events? There would be some simple guidelines but they’ll be rarely if ever policed. It would be a judgment free, unedited place to say ‘I’m having an opening on such and such day at gallery x’ and we could all use it to better group or spread out our shows. Think about it and let us know. A few quick highlights for the week. Brandon Drew Holmes is giving a talk at n/a on Wednesday in Oakland. The show up currently there is great, so the combination of a chance to see the show and see this man speak (he can talk, trust me) is hard to beat. On the other end of the spectrum, Rubi Neri is giving at talk at CCA the same night which also looks good. As far as shows, Jonathan Runcio's new show Glass in the Garden opens Friday at Romer Young. I really liked his last few exhibitions and even his pieces at recent art fairs have stood out against the fray so I'm excited to see his new work. Editor's Picks
