Weekly Outlook
And the summer is here... its only the second week of the month and already its a very light week around town. So instead of pointing you here or there, I'd like to draw your attention to a project of the Bay Area Art Works Alliance, a digital soapbox... basically a phone number you can call in and leave a message on should you have something to add to a discussion of the treatment of art workers (preparators etc.) in our community. In their words: DIGITAL SOAP BOX (470) 333-2075 WE would L O V E to hear from YOU. ybca has asked us to participate in a promotional video.< SO we have set up a phone number with a voicemail box you can call into and leave a message. ( 24 /7 ) (470) 333-2075 this space will act as a: DIGITAL ARCHIVE, soap box, COMMENT BIN, to sound out your story, SHARE CLOSE CALLS, pose questions, TAKE SOUND BITES, explore remember whens, OR ALMOST DIDN'TS, talk about the pay rainbow (spectrum), LABOR NEEDS, best favorite times, HEALTH CARE: DO YOU HAVE IT (WANT IT), share your needs, FLEXIBILITY: WHEN ITS GOOD when its not, THINGS THAT MAKE YOU SMILE and anything between or beyond. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: all vocal items can be left with us here, we would love to hear from you. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: we are busy, trying to work, find work, and have time to actually enjoy our days off, .........and know that you are too! :LEAVE US A MESSAGE: let us know who you are: real name or pseudonym (as we would like to create a safe space for people to voice what they would like, while also recognizing personal stories, perspectives, comments, and needs.) DIGITAL SOAP BOX (470) 333-2075 Okay, one quick note: K R M Mooney's show understudy at n/a is outstanding and not to be missed. n/a holds gallery hours Wednesdays 7-9pm and Saturdays 5-8 and by appointment. Mooney and Nicolas Andre Sung have work together in the city at a place I've not been to yet, The Garage in San Francisco, in a two day show titled Footnotes of an Ornament - An Archive-Performance. This event is part of AIRSpace - Queer Performance Art Residency Program and is not free, but worth looking into. (link) Editor's Picks
