Weekly Outlook
It's a slowish week around town, the notable events being the next show at n/a, and the last show at Important Projects. Each of the shows so far has drastically altered the space of n/a, and though I'm only somewhat familiar with the work of A. K. Burns it should be good based upon what I see online (for example, an excellent looking solo show at Callicoon Fine Arts in 2012) As Boys II Men put it, "Its so hard to say goodbye to yesterday." And it will likewise be hard to say goodbye to one of my favorite art gallery(s) in the Bay Area. This will be the last pair of exhibitions at Important Projects; I'm sure they're will some sort of commemorative party or event to mark the official closing, but I'm not a fan of those... what is more exciting is the chance to catch one last set of shows in these unusual two rooms, both by artists whose work I adore. If you have not been out to Important Projects this is maybe your last chance to see this inspiring, strange project in full form. Its hard to say goodbye, but these types of spaces come and go; lets hope a few more great projects open soon (I know of at least a few... details soon) We need them (spaces) as much as they need us.
