Artcards brings you to art September 16, 2014

Weekly Outlook

There is a great deal of good work up around town currently. The pictures of Matt Borruso's show at Steven Wolf look great, especially a large sculpture/table work, and images of Pablo Guardiola's work at Romer Young are enticing me to head to that distant neighborhood. I saw the 'Introductions' show at the new temporary location of Root Division over the weekend. They are holding a happy hour on Thursday which will hopefully draw even more visitors, there are some good works in there, and I especially liked a set of photos by Todd Lavine and a video by Marshall Elliot.

Saturday is the start of Asian Contemporary Arts Week organized by the Asian Contemporary Arts Consortium (full disclosure: my gallery is working with this program on our next exhibition). It kicks off with a symposium, an artist who cannot speak english is no artist. It runs from 2-7pm at CCA in San Francisco and features a wide variety of speakers and topics both expected of such an event and some which offer a surprising point of view.
