Weekly Outlook
Its a first Thursday/first Friday week, but unlike one month ago there are not an overwhelming amount of shows opening. Two highlights (unfortunately on opposite sides of the bay) will be Bonanza VI: Eighteencharacthers at Interface in Oakland and Criminal Intent at Mission: Comics and Art. In these emails I think I’ve suggested all of Bonanza’s shows thus far; they’ve yet to disappoint and I can’t wait to see what they bring to the always interesting Interface. Criminal intent features new work by Matthew Endler, Club Paint and Erin Jane Nelson in the equally consistently good Mission comics space. And a side note: my fellow Art Card editor Jackie Im and me (Aaron Harbour) will be hosting a panel as part of Open City / Art City at YBCA on Saturday. The event is huge and complicated. Our talk is in the afternoon; we’ll be joined by Quintessa Matranga (of Mission: Comics and Art), Diego Villalobos (co-director of 1038 in San Francisco) and Anna Sagström (co-director of Minibar in Stockholm). All speaking work at small, peculiar art spaces but instead of discussing these spaces, the idea will be to present something less real, less practical, and more speculative. <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> 0 0 1 176 1009 a 8 2 1183 14.0 </xml><![endif]--> <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> </xml><![endif]--> <!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:DIN;} </style> --> Editor's Picks
