This week the madness of Hunter's MFA Open Studios event will commence on Friday with several floors of art from emerging artists that should not be missed. Also on Friday, the Marie Walsh Sharpe Open Studios event takes place in DUMBO with a smaller sample of artists, which can make the event hit-or-miss, but this year's artists in the program look good.

Thursday is a good night for galleries: I might suggest beginning in SOHO at The Drawing Center, Team Gallery, and Christina Ray. Then head up to Chelsea for several promising shows including a "Sewing Social" at Robert Goff Gallery where their "charming team of darners will mend" your cloths that you wear and need repair.
