Weekly Outlook
Have you ever heard of a sneaker wave? Well, this odd oceanic phenomenon exists along the California coast, and is enough of a concern to have signs posted on the beaches where this can occur. Well, I have had my first experience of a sneaker show, Altman Siegle Gallery sprung it's show on me the day of the opening, January 6th, which I was unable to attend. But, with its high powered artists, I believe I will be springing a visit on them. A lot of cool events this week: On Thursday catch part one of two shows addressing the bookstore context of Adobe Backroom Gallery. This Friday, a group of SF Art Commission's off-site projects do a coordinated launch on Market Street under the heading The ARTery Project. Other Friday fun can be found at Romer Young's artist talk in the afternoon, meanwhile David Cunningham's guest curated show opens at The Lab. Last chance to see Maren Miller's show at Important Projects, see my review below and another one on the blog Engineer's Daughter. See you at the shows! ----------- New on Artcards Review: - "Maren Miller -- Now that I know" by Emma Spertus - "Featured Artist: Jose Lerma" by Amanda Schmitt Editor's Picks
