New York
Artcards brings you to art March 9, 2010

Weekly Outlook

The art world enters a postdiluvian state with relatively few openings, after last week's flood of events surrounding the Armory Show. The trend of better art being shown (with perhaps fewer sales than during the peak of the market) continues at all the fairs that I visited. There were plenty of parties but on a tighter budget, and the artwork really was strong at each of the fairs. Some warned the ADAA show would be boring, but I found high quality work in several booths.

Enjoy the week ahead: perhaps check out some shows that you have missed (shows recently opened and shows closing soon). If you're looking for some online reading, I've found Hyperallergic to have consistently good posts (disclosure: Artcards had a sponsorship with Hyperallergic).

Finally, congratulations to all the Artcards contest winners and thanks to everyone who came our to the six tours lead by Artcards/CSM during the week. The tours were a lot of fun and rewarding -- I hope to continue the tours again in the future and share the experience with more of you!
